Outdoor Festivals in Missouri

One of the best places to sell sunglasses is at outdoor events and festivals.  Below we have compiled a short list of links where you can find a large number of festivals to exhibit at.  These are limited to the Missouri area, but see the last paragraph for information about finding the same in your neck of the woods.

Here is a list of festivals in Missouri for 2009 with links to the event web sites and additional information.  http://www.festivals.com/festivals_and_events/Missouri/

Here’s another great site for finding festivals and other events going on. Three big festivals mentioned on this site are the Storytelling Festival in Cape Girardeau, April 3-5; the Dogwood-Azalea Festival April 16-19 and the Missouri Day Festival October 17-19. http://www.wegoplaces.com/USA_State_MO_Cat_Festival.aspx

And one more great outdoor event is the Arcadia Valley Mountain Music Festival, held each spring and fall about 80 miles outside of St. Louis. http://www.mountainmusicfestival.net/index.html

That should get you started if you’re in the Missouri area. If not, just search for your city or state followed by ‘festivals’ or ‘outdoor events’ or ‘music festivals’, etc.

As a sunglasses retailer, you have the opportunity to provide them with sunglasses at unbelievably low prices.  Stock up now and be prepared to sell like mad this year.

Sunglasses is one of those things that a lot of people just can’t do without and they will be looking for bargains everywhere they go.

Plan Your Sunglass Selling Strategy Now

Even if selling sunglasses is just a hobby for you, you need to treat it like a business if you want to be successful.

Now is the time to plan for your events and festivals in 2009.  By planning the entire year now, you will know just how much profit to set aside in order to attend all the really large festivals in the fall.

With the economy the way it is, more and more people are looking for ways to save money.  You can help them by providing inexpensive knock-off sunglasses from the wholesale sunglasses leader, Elite Images.

Sunglasses Aren’t Just For Summer

Most people associate the sun and sunglasses with summer time.  But the sun shines just as bright all year long.  In areas where there is lots of snow and ice, the need for sunglasses is even higher in the winter.

Polarized sunglasses are the very best for protecting your eyes from the glare of the sun and the reflection of the sun on the snow and ice.

As you think about how and where to sell sunglasses, don’t discount how many sunglasses can be sold during the coldest months of the year.  So stock up now and get out there and sell some sunglasses!

And, of course, you can get all the wholesale sunglasses you need at Elite Image Sunglasses.

Pricing Your Wholesale Sunglasses

We get a lot of questions about how much to charge when you are selling the wholesale sunglasses you buy from Elite Image Sunglasses.

Unfortunately, this is not necessarily an easy question to answer.  There are quite a few factors that come into play.

First is the venue, or place you will be selling them.  If you have a retail store where you sell other items, you can put up a sunglasses display and sell them for $10, $15 or even up to $20 per pair depending on the style.

If you are selling sunglasses at a big music or art festival, the booth is going to cost more, but you’ll also be able to get more for your sunglasses.  Typically $10-12 per pair and $15-20 for two pair.

If you are selling at a weekly swap meet, your prices are going to be down around $5-8 per pair, and $10-15 for two pair.

Another factor is the amount of competition at each event.  If there is more competition you may need to lower your prices and make up your profit in volume.

If there is very limited competition you can charge more.  You’ll probably sell fewer sunglasses, but you’ve got a much higher profit margin.

As always, take a look at our entire assortment of wholesale sunglasses and give us a call if you have any questions.

Selling Sunglasses at an Outdoor Market

Outdoor Market Sunglasses Booth

Outdoor Market Sunglasses Booth

We got this picture in from one of our resellers this week and it shows exactly how we recommended they set up their booth.

They picked an outdoor market that is open once a month.  We recommended that they get two booths side by side and then set the tables up all the way across the front of the booth.  This allows for the greatest number of people to be looking at your sunglasses at the same time.

Drape the tables in a black cloth.  There’s no need to spend a bunch of money on table cloths.  Go to the fabric store and buy some black polyester cloth by the yard and just drape it over the tables.  Then when you are done, just fold it up and pack it away until next time.  The polyester won’t wrinkle and it resists getting very dirty.

Next, display as many sunglasses as you have room for.  We recommend that you start with 75-100 dozen so that you have a very good selection.  If you have a great selection people usually won’t keep looking hoping to find something else.

You’ll also need to find the price point that is right for you.  Different markets will support different price points, so there’s really no need to print up a bunch of signs with prices on them.

At most of the markets we’ve been to, the sunglasses sell for $10 each or two for $15.  You’ll have to experiment with that one.  If you’re participating in a weekly market you may need to lower the price, but again, test the price where your competition is and then decide if you want to lower it.

And of course, you can find a very nice selection of wholesale sunglasses at Elite Image Sunglasses.
